Trying Something Different

I am currently soaking Our Thanksgiving turkey in brine this year. Brine, at least this one, is a salty/sugary concoction that is supposed to improve the texture of the turkey and make for a plumper bird.

I took an Emeril Lagasse

recipe and added a few goodies and a little different technique. I have tried a chicken prior to this (soaking in Brine) and it worked out quite well. I'll pass along the process once I see if it works ok.

The 20 pound Turkey is presently in a Ice bath / Brine soak in an ice Chest. I'm glad My wife is willing to experiment with our food.

My son and Cross dressing

Ok, Maybe the tittle is a misleading, because My son doesn't wear women's clothes. At least I am fairly sure of this. I have never seen him cross dressing, so maybe in his own time ...

but I don't think so.

No, what this is reference too was my wife going into town and grabbing a burger. While she was there she saw something she wanted to tell me about when she got back home.

Her: It's a good thing our son didn't go with me to get a Hamburger.

Me: Why? I asked.

Her: Well, I was sitting there waiting for them to bring out the food (Carside Food delivery) and there was this guy with long brown hair, shoulder length and a mustache and a beard.

Me: OK.

Her pausing: And he was wearing a shirt.

Me, wondering why I was getting this in bits and pieces: OK

Her - another dramatic pause

Me: And ...

I am now imaging some one streaking my wife.

Her: And he was wearing pants.

Me: Good!

Her: And he had on high heels.

Me: Oh. High Heels.

Her: Spikey high heels and he was sashaying. She now did this crazy wavy motion with her hands.

I had a good laugh over her hands trying to simulate sashaying.

Me: Yeah, I suppose our son would have had something to say about that for sure.

There.

I didn't catch my son in a red dress or anything. Just my wife catching some brave soul in very Conservative Downtown Bakersfield wearing Very High heels and not hiding the fact. Something you don't see every day in these parts. We are not San Francisco.

(EDIT: Look, I tried to find an Image of a guy wearing high heels, but now I feel the need to take a shower - that and wash my eyes out.)

A scary Thought ...

The commercial with the guy that thinks a rock Hard Avocado with the seed intact, the skin still on, and a blender - what if there is some one out there that thinks that his behavior is just fine and sees nothing wrong with what he is trying to do?

And Why in Gods name did they bring this inane commercial back to the Air Waves?

A rather interesting Nugget of the Internet I found which I thought I would share with you guys. I found right clicking on the presentation and changing the quality to Medium helped a lot viewing this thing.

I find this rather entertaining.

Ok, this Sez Who Comment Thing is really bad news in my book. I really dislike commenting in any length on those comment things for Sez Who, because everything I comment is saved and recorded and apparently kept for ever for every one to see even though I have never signed up for the damn thing.

It is also hard to tell when I am commenting on a Sez Who site at times do to the fact that they can change the look of their comment thingy, which is fine, But It gives me more cause to be wary of what I comment on, which I really do not like.

When I comment, I want to be able to express fully what I feel and why some times I am commenting. I don't want to have to limit myself to one or two sentences if I want to run on for days like I do here at times.

This picture has nothing to do with this comment.

I really Wish Entrecard hadn't had every body go all gung ho on the Sez Who Comment thingy so many months ago.

I feel some what better now.

Using Twitter was something I stayed away from for a very long time. But I finally bit the bullet and decided to sign up. Rather interesting.

Here are some Twitter tools that one of the people I follow found.

This comes in handy as well. Makes Long URL's Much smaller.

trick big time

My poor 2 year old Grandson went trick or treating last night. The third house he went to was all set up to scare the bejesus out of Adults. He didn't stand a chance. It took him like 5 or 6 more houses before he wanted anything to do with Halloween any more. Then he was very gun shy after that. It was a rough experience for him. I can appreciate getting into Halloween, But take your Chit back away from the Sidewalk for christs sake. Hell, these Guys (Two of them) were parked right at the side walk. I guess they didn't want people to walk on their precious sidewalk or something.

They had a stereo cranked with some very good Halloween sound effects, but nothing a 2 year old needed to hear. That sound carried houses away, so he was very tentative even coming close to the gruesome display. One was even sitting in a rocking chair just about his eye height. It couldn't have been worse for the little Scarecrow. It took him 5 minutes to stop sobbing loudly.

I hope you guys had fun scaring the crap out of all the youngsters that had the misfortune to come down that sidewalk.

Mellow out some next year, ok?

Yeah Right.
