A virtual Roi De Janerio

Hey wait!

I probably should still be more awake than I am to be posting this, but the idea is in my head and I'm plugging forward.

My youngest son went with my wife to get some groceries. That in itself is an act worth blogging about. It just don't happen. Anywho, Son returns from shopping trip with a Box from Smiths. Enough said.

Oh, for those of you not Living In Bakersfield, California, Smiths is de Bomb, bakery wise. These guys are awesome. I have eaten their baked goods ever since I can remember. Oh, the stories I could tell.
So, the wife opened up the Smiths box, explains that our Son bought these and hands me this huge Maple bar. Somewhere in the fog of still trying to wake up from about 15 minutes ago I get these two thoughts - one is to just eat a bit of this and have a decent breakfast. Thought 2 was I ought to take a picture of this Bakery beauty to share with all my readers.
I get to talking to my wife about her shopping experience with our baby son (21 going on 14) in tow. Some where in the back of my head is this still quiet voice saying stop to the Maple bar again going into my mouth and me enjoying immensely the tastes flooding my mouth. Nom Nom Nom.
Some 30 seconds after the Maple bar has disappeared, I remember the plan of only eating a little bit and taking a picture of the stupid thing before even putting it to my lips - Ooops.

So maybe next time.

Every now and then

I have to sit back and wonder about some of my fellow bloggers. Really. Wonder. Forget those that have the normal or nearly normal or maybe not anywhere near normal problems that they face in their daily or some what daily postings. What I am talking about today is a lady that I admire greatly for her blogging skills. She has a fantastic sense of humor and I even interviewed her once. I am talking about The Junk Drawer. Kathy recently gave a birthday party for a bag. A plastic bag. She even took pictures of the cake. Kathy, step away from the correction fluid, please.

I realize that we have to get creative from time to time and embellish the truth some what in order to make the bland and dreary seem somewhat exciting, but she doesn't even own this bag, never has, never will. It's stuck in a tree near her office and she has been keeping tabs on how long this particular bag is up in this tree. So apparently after eyeing this bag for 365 days, what else, but throw a party for the bag.

So she posts about the party and has pictures and I post about her post.

Maybe I should wonder about me as well.

I have no excuses

I haven't been here. All my readers, all two of them, know that. I should be saying I have been feeling terrible about not posting here, but I haven't. I haven't been on the Internet much at all lately. Taking a break I guess, seeing the world through something other than this monitor. Been watching some stupid movies and some good ones. Been dealing with a sorry excuse for a vegetable garden and pulling up a very live pomegranate bush tree that my wife and neighbor apparently have disliked. I thought it was ok, but it now down to a few inches above the ground, dead, I hope.

Been dealing with a car and its smog problems and the state of California. Just too much fun there.

Been working on recording my caloric Intake (What a pain.) I also went to the LA Zoo. Had an excellent time and highly suggest a go at it if your around Griffith Park in Los Angeles, California and want to see some very healthy animals. Right now the Elephant Pen is being overhauled, so no Elephant viewing, But I found the Giraffes extraordinary.

Another thing about a visit to the LA Zoo, you will see ungodly amounts of cleavage due to an excess in Pushup bras. Must be an LA thing. Also, the water must be doing something to the women. A lot of them were pregnant and some were very pregnant.

I'll really try to get back in the groove here. It felt pretty good actually posting again.

Have a great day.
