Amazing photograph from this guy. I wish I lived in Canada at times.

Here is another one.

The square at the bottom right hand corner allows for that image to be seen full screen. Its pretty amazing.

Hulu has improved greatly

They now offer High def programs, which doesen't do me any good, (I need more Horsepower In my PC) and full length movies, such as Rob Roy, If you've never seen it .. well I think it tis an awesome flick with plenty of action and sword play. A bit gruesome though, with an excellent ending.

Then the other side of the coin, a movie I love to pieces and one my wife just thinks is stupid (well Yeah?), the Jerk with Steve Martin. Tis a stupid funny romp that cracks me up.

They even have commercials at Hulu:

I have always had a fondness for word search games. I think I have found the Mother load.

Could get addicting

For sure your going to waste a few minutes once you get the hang of it

Marbles

Some 36 games later , I think I should change could to will in the title. I just don't like it when it asks me if I was awake, OK.

Some more amazing stop action Photography, this time in HD. Absolutely amazing in the dark with the full screen option on.

I had an Aunt who swore she only needed 4 hours of sleep a night and lived to ripe old age of 93 before passing away. I miss you Aunt Margo.

The wayback Machine seems promising. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.
I don't know. I tried to see my way around a bit, but it doesn't seem to be very user friendly. Maybe you have to hold your tongue just right. Still, seems like a good idea.

Found this interesting

I'm still trying to figure this guy out. What ever it is, it's pretty amazing.

Apparently this is a big thing in France.

Here is another video of the same guy.

Hidden Dangers In Plastics?

The Today Show Report Focuses On Safety Of Plastic Bottles
updated 6:36 p.m. PT, Thurs., April. 10, 2008

Consumers are double-checking their water bottles and plastic containers following an NBC report that hidden chemicals could pose a health risk.

Smart Plastics Guide

Video: Are Plastic Bottles Safe, Pt. 1 | Video: Are Plastic Bottles Safe, Pt. 2

In a few weeks, the final report of a government study on plastic bottles will be released. The concern is over a chemical -- Bisphenal A -- that many scientists are worried about.

"The effects are primarily reproductive and fertility effects in both male and female organisms," said Dan Tessier, toxicologist with the University Of Illinois, Chicago.

Animal tests have shown that Bisphenol A affects hormones, according to experts. But the chemical is not just in water bottles. It's found in baby bottles and children's sippy cups. Heating is thought to make the chemical leach out even more.

The FDA and the plastics industry, and some scientists say Bisphenol A leaching out at low levels, it's safe.

"The toxic effects on rats were done at levels that are thousands of times higher than we are exposed to in the environment," said Dr. Gilbert Ross, medical director of the American Council on Science and Health.

So how do you know what bottle the chemical is in? The key is to turn it over.

Inside the little triangle, you'll see a number, from one to seven. Bottled water is packaged in No. 1. Experts told the Today Show, the numbers 3, 6 and 7 pose the most danger, including cancer risks. Still, a federal panel of experts has some concern that even low levels cause neural and behavioral effects in children and fetuses. All plastics can degrade, especially with harsh treatment, like dish washing or microwaving-- so you may not want to reuse anything, to the point that it's getting shabby.

On the Today Show, Dr. Nancy Snyderman said, "The reality of is that nobody knows. There's been no long-term studies. After you repeatedly beat-up plastic and hurt the integrity of the outside, do chemicals leach out into your food and water. Common sense would say, probably yes."

A current study will take 20 years for conclusive results. In the meantime, Snyderman offered this advice when wondering about the safety of No.'s 3, 6 and 7 plastics.

"If I had to err on the side of caution, don't use those, use others," she said.

Trading Nude Photos Via Mobile Phone Now Part of Teen Dating, Experts Say

Monday, April 14, 2008

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Forget about passing notes in study hall; some teens are now using their cell phones to flirt and send nude pictures of themselves.

The instant text, picture and video messages have become part of some teens' courtship behavior, police and school officials said. The messages often spread quickly and sometimes find their way to public Web sites.

"I've seen everything from your basic striptease to sexual acts being performed," said Reynoldsburg police Detective Brian Marvin, a member of the FBI Cyber Crime Task Force of Central Ohio. "You name it, they will do it at their home under this perceived anonymity."

Westerville Central High School senior Jerome Ray said he's received such unsolicited messages, including one from a classmate while he was sitting with his girlfriend.

"A lot more girls are aggressive," said Ray, 18. "Some girls are crazy and they are putting themselves out there."

Candice Kelsey, a teacher from California, said some teenage girls think they have to be provocative to get boys' attention. As a result, they will send photos they hope their parents never see.

"This happens a lot," said Kelsey, author of Generation MySpace: Helping Your Teen Survive Online Adolescence. "It crosses every racial socio-economic group. Christian kids are doing it. Jewish kids are doing it."

Male teens are also doing it.

For instance, a central Ohio high school teen made a sexual cell phone video of himself and sent it to female classmates. One of the girls forward the Westerville South High School's video to at least 30 other people.

A study last year found teens are placing more of an emphasis on image and fame than in the past. Jean Twenge, a psychology professor at San Diego State University who studies young people's trends, found that teens are more confident and assertive than ever before.

"Adolescents are not known for thinking things through _ that's a generational constant," she said. "Now, with the technology that is out there, instead of taking a picture and passing it around the classroom, it's online, which is a whole different ball game. (Teens) don't see it that way."

Mark Raiff, a principal at Columbus' Olentangy Liberty High School, said some of his students and their cell phones have caused trouble.

"They don't see anything wrong with it," he said. "It leaves me speechless."

US Consumers Finally Starting To Accept HDTVs Into Their Lives
April 5, 2008 – 5:38 am, posted by Shannon

"There is a bit of a strange phenomenon taking place right now when it comes to HDTV. According to a recent survey conducted by ABI Research, 41% of television owners have at least one HDTV in their house. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as the HDTV technology is clearly superior to non-HDTV televisions. The strange part is that only 56% of people with an HDTV are subscribing to HD programming packages.

Perhaps this isn’t as strange as it seems on the surface. The general assumption about people purchasing HDTVs is that they really value their television watching experience and, therefore, want the best type of television in their homes. Under this line of thinking, it only makes sense that they would also have HDTV programming. In reality, however, it seems that many people are just deciding to upgrade to the HDTV in preparation for the switchover to digital or perhaps they just want to purchase the better television options when shopping for a new television. Another possibility is that some of the buyers didn’t realize they needed to obtain HDTV programming in order to enjoy their HDTV.

All-in-all, the people at ABI Research have concluded that the overall interest in HDTV is finally rising in the United States. This is a switch in the trend, as previous years showed that US consumers had actually been losing interest in HDTVs. Other countries, such as South Korea and France, on the other hand, had been showing steadily increasing interest in HDTVs over the past few years.

A survey conducted by the Consumer Electronics Association also showed that consumers were becoming increasingly interested in HDTVs. In fact, when parents were polled on the their top holiday gift wishes, their first choice was “peace and happiness,” their second choice was for a computer and their third choice was for a big screen TV. Obviously, a big screen television doesn’t actually have to be an HDTV, but the two generally do go hand in hand. It’s good to see that American consumers are finally coming around!"

Then on the same website there is this:

"Over-the-air (OTA) HDTV is a big hit these days. High definition television is one on those rare services that comes in the highest quality when it is free of charge. You can watch amazing 1080i resolution broadcasts over the air for free, and get better quality for the same channels than through a paid satellite DTV subscription. All you need is a high definition TV set with a built-in HDTV tuner and an off-air HDTV antenna."

Big Brother and Ndisuio.sys - A new Internet phenomenon?

03 Apr

Posted by ProCOM bloggeraz on April 3, 2008 – 1:55 pm -

Ndisuio.sys, a very mysterious system file is present in Windows XP and Vista and is a driver for wireless things such as wi-fi and bluetooth. However, there have been many issues with this file downloading immense amounts of data and perhaps causing activity that is “big brother”ish.

The fact that hardly any information on this file downloading data is available by Microsoft makes things quite suspicious about it. It has even been noted that it looked as if it was transferring data to major companies like Comcast, Road Runner, Time Warner, BTC and Verizon.

The good news is, it turns out this file duplicates data that is sent/received, so wherever you go, it will also transfer the data to that file but it does not leave the computer/network so it’s not spyware. So it’s not as much of a big brother situation then it looks like. It simply performs internal communication tasks and stands for NDIS user I/O, hence, NDISUIO. NDISUIO is also used as a driver by many developers as it makes certain wireless network tasks easier such as implementing it for 802.11x connections. Some firewalls also use it as it can get the data in order to filter it.

But duplicating this data can hog resources for no reason, so disabling it is the best thing to do. The data rate of this file’s received data is huge, so that indicates that the data transfer is not over the Internet, but locally. So it’s just a duplicate of network activity but because it’s local everything transfers faster but uses more resources then casual internet usage as there’s more data involved at a given time span of 1 second, for example.

To disable this file, go to the control panel, administration tools, services, Wireless Zero Configuration, double click and disable it. This file is probably required to run if you use any linksys wireless devices.

This blogging

creation, as it is, I find rather amazing. Granted there is the ones in it for the money with the google ads for days and the get rich schemes aflow. Then there are the occasional (at least for me) porn blogs, which I really find distasteful. And the ones that have up and been left to dye a miserable death.

Then there are those amazing finds where you get to see inside someone else's world. Where lives are exposed and you get to find out what makes someone tick. Feel their pain and find their strengths and weakness. Feel their joy and their sadness.

The Internet can be such a wild and woolly place where all hell can break loose if your not careful, if you don't stay on your toes, ever diligent.

Then there is the sweet and sorrowful side. Almost like Japanese sweet and sour sauce all rolled up in one.

Something rather important ...

If you click this pretty button below, you’ll be taken to Miss Ann’s blog. There is a raffle going on for Lisa of Clusterfook. We want to make a dream come true for her. Lisa has been diagnosed with cancer for the third time in what seems like as many years. She wants to take her daughters to Disney World, something she can not afford.

Lisa is one of the bloggers I started reading almost immediately upon entrance into the blogging world. Her blog at the time, Rock Bitch, was like nothing I had seen before. She was snarky, honest and oh so funny. I’ve kept up reading her each time her domain has changed, whether cause she blew it up or whether she just wanted a change.

Lisa, you are strong and beautiful and I have faith you will pull through this. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and know that I am here if you ever need me."

Custumer service Snafu ...

Posted by Beamer at 11:13 AM

This is the second time this store has come up on this blog. One more and I'm gonna start naming names and e-mailing people.

Yesterday, April fools day. my wife is going through the checkout. Everything is fine and my wife is swiping her debit card through the scanner, when the Cashier decides to open her mouth.

"Do you know you have a spider on the side of your Neck?"

My wife has now stopped what she is doing and is swiping at one side, then the other side of her neck, wondering if she has removed the little varmint from her neck.

"April Fools"

I would really hope my wife gave the cashier a look that would kill, but knowing her, she probably just walked away with so much as a sign of her distaste for this strange customer service experience.

This wasn't the same cashier as before.

Now on a side note, I have worked with individuals that have had a fear of insects, especially one woman who had arachnophobia something terrible. I'm sure the store would have loved it if my wife had suffered from this terrible fear and had sufered a heart attack on the spot.
