I don't know if you have seen it or heard about it, but today for some reason seems like I am to find out way more about KFC's Double Down than I ever thought possible.

What I am not going to win is this battle I have created where I do not consume a KFC Double Down.

I now it is going to be greasy and fatty and not good for me. I know that. Granted there is the grilled version that will be much less fatty and greasy, but where is the fun in trying to resist the healthier version of a Double Down. Besides, My stomach doesn't work that way.

No, if given the choice, My tummy will always choose the less healthy version of what ever food is being offered. That is where my great intellect and savvy brain power steps in and says "Hang on a minute - Let me analyze this."

My stomach is a tricky beast though, and very sneaky, either that or my brain is asleep from hunger sometimes, uhm, many times.

So I am presently on page 5 of this guys review of the Double Down. I was going to blog about this guy writing 3 pages on this "sandwich". That was 2 pages ago. Granted there are lots of pictures, and he does have a creative writing style, but 5 pages on a KFC product? Maybe he is getting reimbursed for this lengthy article. I don't know.

Having gotten to the final page and realizing this guy is just plain old going overboard with his writing, I can tell by the Pictures that maybe this battle won;t be so hard to win after all. His pictures do tell quite the story.

What in Gods name will they think of Next?

I hijack this blog for my own self serving interest, ok, ... maybe I haven't done it in a while But this is something I need to work out - Tripods.




As you may or may not know I have a photoblog. And as such, I take a lot of Images. Some good, some great, but some are an amazing disappointment. I shall show some examples and try to figure out why what happened happened.


These first four images are taken at night or late dusk. I used a tripod on them as I did the last image that went wrong. I was careful with all the shots, took my time, double and triple checked my settings, carefully pushed the shutter, and with some very little cropping - success:










This is not the result I was hoping for - Blurry, almost out of focus. Something was moving when this photo was shot - But what? I set the tripod on top of my car, parked. The tripod appeared to be still. I took my time, set up the shot very carefully slowly pushed the shutter button - But this was the end result:



What was the difference?

The tripod. I used the round black tripod on the first four shots. A small, but extremely stable tripod that allowed for some freedom as far as moving the camera into the angle I wanted. It was really the first time I had used it. It used to belong to my mother. In fact all 3 of these I inherited from her. The problem with the last shot I do believe is I used the black very adjustable 3 legged tripod. It is basically a flexible wire setup and very easy to get the camera to the angle I need for the shot, but I believe the end result screams at me - lose the tripod. I'll hang onto it for day shots, maybe, but no more night shots with that puppy. (by the way, there were 4 other shots taken with that same flexible tripod I had to literally throw away. They were much worse than what I displayed here.)

I wish I had never seen a blog with Haloscan and though it would be neat to have:

It has been such a pain ever since I signed on with this outfit. I decided to put my original Photo blog back up and removed any sign of Haloscan In the HTML . Well, I not only removed Haloscan (possibly) but also now there is no way for anyone to comment on the Photo blog.

There are plenty of times when Computers are a double edged sword and this is definitely one of those times

I keep wanting to wait till I have some thing substantial to say before posting here. I think I may take a different route for a while. Start posting little thoughts as well, less substantial. We shall see.

Yes, that is a refrence to the "old school" song of
Donovan, "There is a mountain". (I'm thinking some one must have been on some very good drugs when they wrote that song to have a mountain disappear then reappear)

Well, mainly due to my love of photography and the
photo blog of mine, I have a huge collection of Photos on the hard drive on this computer. I use Windows XP service pack 2 for the Operating system. I recently decided to take this collection and rearrange it into categories, instead of dates, as the software for the camera tends to upload load it to the computer. So I have a nature category, a Mechanical category, and so on.
I had tried in the past in using control and selecting 5 or 6 photos to move at once and XP software wanted to make copies of the pictures that way, so I was moving them one by one. Granted its a royal pain, but at least I wasn't getting copies that way. Then I went back to the old way, selected about 5 pictures, hit control and highlighted them, then moved the pictures into the new folder.

Poof!

All the rest of the pictures I had in the old folder disappear, maybe a hundred pictures or so. Gone. Luckily I have a backup of them, but those are the raw format, as they come out of the camera, not the processed images I had saved. Needless to say, a lot of work went into these images, and to have them disappear hurt. Granted I should have had backups of these images as well, which I am going to make post haste, for last night, some 3 days later, they all reappeared.

Where they went and where they came back from I don't care. I am just so glad they are back. Computers! A double edged sword at best. GRRRRR!
