"I do have this other image of some of your grating."
"I want it gone as well."
I think it got deleted as well. I just wanted to get away from this lady and her band of merry men.
She wanted to know why I was doing this, what enjoyment can I possibly get out of doing this, and again she said she was going to get her camera. I asked her if she wanted to take a picture of Me.
"No."
Well, then I knew she was crazy. I am walking away from her and she is still going on about what enjoyment could I be getting out of this.
I said. "Well, I guess I am Crazy." I asked her if she knew about Photo Blogs.
She gave me a blank stare. I asked her if she knew about the Internet.
"I am very wise about the Internet." I gave up. I was getting no where and My golden Hour was dwindling down to a few minutes. I finally got away from her. I saw a neat image a few feet further and turned back to her.
"Look I'm Taking a picture. You better call the cops."
I turned the corner at the end of the Block and though how it must going to be a full moon out tonight.
So, I start explaining about my Photo Blog and how I need to keep getting images to "Feed the Beast" as I like to call it. I am in a public alley way. There is a fence between me and the two guys and the two dogs. I wish them a good day and start walking down the alley looking for more shots. I only have a brief period of time with this golden hour thing.
I walk to the end of the block and head south. I cross a three lane street and as I am halfway across the street, a group of people have gathered in front of the house with the missing landings for the second story of the back of the house. Someone whistled loudly and I looked over at the group of people. They were waving for me to come over.
I finished crossing the street and took a few more images. I got across from thee gathering and a lady had what looked like my business card and was asking me something about what I was doing. I crossed back over the street. She is holding onto my card and is asking me what "this" is all about.
"Uhm, it's a free business card from Moo."
"What does this mean? It's all gibberish."
Actually, there are different Addresses to different things dealing with Me on the Internet. I said "It is a business card (again) and it has different ..."
"Why are you doing this? You are taking pictures of my private property. You came onto my property and took pictures." Crap. This didn't sound good.
"What if I got my Camera and went and took pictures of your property? Is your address on here?"
Actually there are for addresses on there, but that isn't what she was wanting, apparently.
Again she said "What if I got my camera?" My golden hour was dwindling.
Look Lady I wanted to say, take your private property issues and shove them where the s=* Don't S&&6.
But what I said instead was "Here, let me delete the Image of your House, ok?"
I found her junked up property on the camera and hit the delete on it. The image pixilated to a blue field. I was hoping that was going to be her pound of flesh.
I guess you didn't give me a chance to tell you about my regular Blog. You probably wouldn't understand about regular blogs either. Even though you claim to be so wise about the Internet.
I know that doesn't make much sense to you. But there may be one person that gets it, although I doubt it.
I was out this afternoon during golden hour, the optimum time for taking images with a camera. The setting sun just throws off such a nice golden glow and does wonders for photography. So I am out getting some more shots for my Photo blog, I am walking down an alley in old town Kern, an older part of Bakersfield that is seen it's better days. There was great hoopla of getting this part of Bakersfield back on it's feet, but that was before the economy turned upside down. Now it is just sad.
I came across some Iron grating that made for a neat shot. I took it. I then walked a few feet and there was the back of a 2 story house with doors leading to nowhere. The upper floors were there but there was not a thing past the doors for anyone to walk out on. It looked scary and ridiculous. It was unusual and it ended up in my camera.
Two dogs came running as I am taking the shot, followed by two guys.
One of the guys said "Can I help You?" over the loud barking dog. I already had my shot.
I asked him what just to make sure of what he said.
"Can I help you?"
"Nope." I reached for my wallet to give him one of my free business cards I got from Moo. It's not really classy but it was free, so I can't complain.
Part of the fun in working at Chicken Delight was answering the phone, taking the orders and setting up the delivery directions. One night, I took a phone call for a delivery in what is commonly called Oildale. It is sort of a suburb of Bakersfield, although not really. It's kind of confusing. Anyway, this delivery was going to be a piece of cake and I had my good buddy Mark with me. I had just got him a job with the company and he had gotten off early that night, and was riding around with me, keeping me company. It was probably going to be the last delivery of the night for me, then it was clean up time back at the building.
I was heading north on Chester heading towards Oildale just a few blocks north of the Traffic Circle, when these 3 guys in this 1967 Camaro pulled up alongside me and started yelling things. I had the 8-track stereo cranked and they were on Mark's side, so I didn't know what was going on at first. I turned down the stereo and asked Mark what their problem was. I had just barely asked him when the driver of the Camaro yelled for me to pull over. He wanted to kick my arse.
Apparently, he yelled, I had cut him off earlier. I told him he was full of crap and to get away. I was working. I had stuff to deliver. I didn't want to tell him I had nearly 300 dollars in my wallet from a busy night doing deliveries. All that did, apparently, was upset him even more. He tried to ram my car with his.
Sorry, but that ain't gonna happen. I figured this guy was physco and just looking for a fight, as well as his buddies. I punched the gas and pulled away from him and hung a left at the next street in Oildale, tires squealing.
Now one car at the time that could keep up with and possibly go faster than a 1965 Ford Mustang with A 289 cubic inch engine was either another Mustang, a Corvette, or a Camaro. (of stock American cars at the time, roughly) This dude was able to keep up with me turn for turn, acceleration and braking, for the same. I lost 3 hubcaps during this chase, but he didn't ever hit me, although he sure was trying. I don't know how many laws I broke during this chase, but it would have been very expensive for both of us, if we had been caught.
I finally managed to get back to Chicken Delight. As I slowed down, screeching the tires, at the back door, Mark apparently had a game plan I was unaware of. He jumped out and ran inside, returning just a few seconds later with a huge French Knife.
One of the Guys ran away as soon as he saw Mark With the knife. I guess he chased the second one down the street, so I just had the driver to contend with. The idiot decided to climb out the passenger door which was still open.
Wrong move. He came out sliding legs first, so I grabbed a hold of the door and slammed it on his ankle as it passed between the door and door frame. He cussed me out and then started to come out the drivers door. I ran around and grabbed his hand as he opened up the door and damn near broke the thing off bending it backwards. I asked him if he was going to leave us alone and he said no. So then I grabbed his finger and started squeezing. I had all four fingers in my right hand and all my weight lifting came into play.
I started hearing stuff cracking. He screamed and finally said he'd leave. Good thing, for Mark Returned with the Knife and he had this very determined look in his eyes. I let loose of the the poor guys hand and he tried to shut the door. I had to shut the door for him. His left hand, the one Had a grasp of, wasn't working very good for some reason. He was wiping tears from his eye with his other hand and trying to start his car up. Mark was going insane, yelling about don't ever think of chasing us again, cause it wasn't going to be pretty.
About then the Assistant Manager came out and wanted to know what was going on. He had the customer on the Phone line and he was understandably upset. Mark walked him inside and tried to explain to him what had happened. I filled in the details once I grabbed the pizza and went inside. Turned out to be a pretty crazy finish to a busy night.
My wife and I went to have some pizza last Night. We were watching the TV in there. Its a small area with about 6 booths in two rows of 3 each. We sat in the middle one on the right. My youngest son of 20 going on 14 was to join us. He was going to be driving his van without a drivers license. (trust me, we've told him it's wrong, but it's about like talking to the wall) and I got up to change the channel on the TV. It dawned on my wife that we should come in on Monday nights to watch Closer on Their satellite/ cable setup. We both like Closer. We are lacking the channel for the Closer at this time. I had already had a few mugs of beer.
Me: It probably wouldn't do any good to come in here then because someone would want to watch the Lakers play Baseball.
(I am well aware {99.99% of the time} usually that the Lakers are a Basketball team and It dawned on me as I said it that was wrong, but I'm telling my wife this)
Wife: The Lakers Play Baseball, Huh?
Me: Yes they do. (not wanting to admit I was wrong.)
Wife: Since when? (Damn, she's on to me. Have a few more Beers, Wife.)
Me: (total silence)
So then my son shows up. The pizza has been there about 20 seconds.
Wife to son: Gee, did you know the Lakers play Baseball?
Son: (with mouth stuffed with pizza) Whut?
Wife to son: That's what Dad said.
Son: The Lakers play Basketball (Duh!)
Me to wife: Thanks a lot for sharing that.
Wife: (laughing) No problem.
Me: Well, I was hoping you wouldn't know what the Lakers played.
Wife: Well I do know a few things.
Me: Well You don't know when to keep your mouth shut.
Wife: Laughing
Son: (Inhaling Pizza like there is no tomorrow)Mumble mumble Mumble
This picture of an Army soldier in Iraq with his tiny ‘plot’ of grass in front of his tent is heartwarming! Here is a soldier stationed in Iraq, stationed in a big sand box. He asked his wife to send him dirt ( U.S. soil), fertilizer, and some grass seed so that he can have the sweet aroma, and feel the grass grow beneath his feet. When the men of the squadron have a mission that they are going on, they take turns walking through the grass and the American soil — to bring them good luck.
I found this and couldn't leave it till I had seen most of the images. Kinda like watching a train wreck. Warning: Some of the images are pretty intense.
That I am going to attempt to highlight some of the Great Businesses around Bakersfield that Make Bakersfield a rather unique location in California. I'm going to shoot for a weekly feature and see how it goes. (Click on an Image to see a bigger version.) #########################################################################

They also make a lot of their bake goods, such as the Brownies and Blondies. There is also Chocolate Cookies, Peanut Butter Cookies, and Shortbread baked there as well.
There is also a wide array of sandwiches and a selection of salads. All of this feast is prepared either to eat in or for take out. They also have a Patio Area that allows for outdoor enjoyment. There is a Good Value Special that Offers savings on their regular price.
There is currently 26 Employees and they do not as of yet have a presence on the Internet. I am told that they are working on getting a web site running.
On A side Note, the smells that add to the atmosphere are at times just incredible, especially when they start serving banana Splits with Strawberry sauce over the top.
I just wanted to thank Roseanne again for taking the time out to let a blogger come in and interview her and take some photos. I didn't know what to expect when I walked in and was greeted quite warmly and allowed great freedom Photo wise. Thanks.

Fans of the irreverent South Park will now be able to watch all 12 seasons of the animated series online.South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone along with Comedy Central have launched southparkstudios.com. The site will be ad supported with initial sponsorship from Toyota and Virgin."
I have to admit I am not a big fan of the show, but this is quite an extensive collection of stuff over there at this site. If You like Southpark at all, your probably really gonna get a kick out of this web page. Lots of ads though.
Ok, so I have amassed this huge photo collection. And this is just going to be the start. There are going to be many years I shall be doing this, I Hope. Right now mostly everything is how the camera has downloaded the images in to the camera: By date. That is great. But then I have the images that I post produced to make them worthwhile to post on the internet or Flickr or elsewhere. And these images are spread across 2 computer and some of the images on the one computer are duplicates of the other cause only one has access to the Internet. And so on and so on...
So I found this site: Photo sense on two fronts and will see how things develop on it. Should be interesting. I just wonder if having a cluttered computer affects your Fung shui.
Yes, that is a refrence to the "old school" song of Donovan, "There is a mountain". (I'm thinking some one must have been on some very good drugs when they wrote that song to have a mountain disappear then reappear)
Well, mainly due to my love of photography and the photo blog of mine, I have a huge collection of Photos on the hard drive on this computer. I use Windows XP service pack 2 for the Operating system. I recently decided to take this collection and rearrange it into categories, instead of dates, as the software for the camera tends to upload load it to the computer. So I have a nature category, a Mechanical category, and so on. I had tried in the past in using control and selecting 5 or 6 photos to move at once and XP software wanted to make copies of the pictures that way, so I was moving them one by one. Granted its a royal pain, but at least I wasn't getting copies that way. Then I went back to the old way, selected about 5 pictures, hit control and highlighted them, then moved the pictures into the new folder.
Poof!
All the rest of the pictures I had in the old folder disappear, maybe a hundred pictures or so. Gone. Luckily I have a backup of them, but those are the raw format, as they come out of the camera, not the processed images I had saved. Needless to say, a lot of work went into these images, and to have them disappear hurt. Granted I should have had backups of these images as well, which I am going to make post haste, for last night, some 3 days later, they all reappeared.
Poof!
Where they went and where they came back from I don't care. I am just so glad they are back. Computers! A double edged sword at best. GRRRRR!
